Obituary

Richard V. Scheetz, 90, of Quakertown died February 28, 2020 in Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg. He was the husband of Sevilla G. (Long) Scheetz. They were married 64 years last July. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Richard R. & Mamie R. (Roth) Scheetz. He retired from the former U.S. Gauge after 39 ½ years of service. Following his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was a lifetime member of the Springtown Rod & Gun Club, and a member of the Milford Township Fish & Game. He enjoyed fishing and raising plants in his small greenhouse. Richard was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Quakertown. Richard was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons John R. (Kathleen L.) of Quakertown and James D. (Susan) of Zionsville. A brother Charles W. Scheetz. Four grandchildren Joshua A. Scheetz, Jared J. Scheetz, Jessica L. Bannwarth (Michael) and Amber A. Metz (Michael), three step-grandchildren Crystal Harrison, Joshua Paul Lorenzen, & Kevin O’Brien, three great grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren. Predeceased by two brothers Kenneth R., Henry J., and two sisters Virginia R. Sittler & June G. Lewis.  MEMORIAL SERVICE AND VISITATION WILL BE POSTPONED AND BE RESCHEDULED IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR A LATER DATE.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 102 N. Hellertown Ave. Quakertown, PA 18951 or the Springtown Rod and Gun Club P.O. Box 52 Springtown PA 18081.
