William O. Hunsworth

William O. Hunsworth, 83, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 16, 1942, he was the son of the late William L. and Hattie M. (Hallman) Hunsworth.

A graduate of Quakertown High School’s Class of 1960, he joined the United States Army, where he served in personnel at Ft. Bliss, until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1967. Following his service, William enrolled at Temple University and received his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1971.

William spent his career as a Union Carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, retiring in 1999.

In his free time, he found joy in golfing, running, and fishing. His passion for woodworking wasn’t just a job, but also a hobby: In his retirement he built furniture for doll houses, among other treasures.

He was a former Boy Scout Leader, Youth Soccer Coach, and a member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program.

William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-seven years: Jacolyn H. (Laubengeyer) Hunsworth, to whom he wed on September 28, 1968; son: Matthew W. Hunsworth (Christina); daughter: Karen L. Keller (Kevin); sisters: Patricia Rush (Kent) and Carol Roth (C. Robert); as well as nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 821 West Broad Street, Quakertown, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service—in the funeral home—at 1:00pm.
