Stanley Arthur Winkler

Stanley A. Winkler, 92, of Milford Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 6, 1934, in Milford Square, he was a son of the late Horace and Elva (Heavener) Winkler.

Following his formal education, Stanley entered the workforce, spending thirty years as a welder with Rolle Manufacturing in Lansdale, as well as twenty-five years as a tractor trailer driver for Schlosser Steel in Hatfield.

Although he only had an eighth-grade education, he was incredibly skilled: He could easily take apart and reassemble an engine, as well as completing a variety of handyman projects. Through Stanley’s drive, he instilled a good work ethic in his children and grandchildren.

In his spare time, he loved to tinker with cars, be around animals—especially his pets (dogs, a pig, a pony)—as well as tackling a Sudoku puzzle, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Additionally, Stan was an avid Philadelphia sports fan—he loved watching all of the Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers games. If he wasn’t watching sports in his recliner, he’d be watching his favorite old TV shows: The Rifleman, Bonanza, Beverly Hill Billies, and Green Acres. Most importantly, though, he often served as a sounding-board for his grandchildren, quietly listening and offering advice when needed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son: Dean Winkler, who passed away in 2009; granddaughter: Dawn Winkler; brothers: Harold “Mose,” Horace “Snib,” and David “Pete” Winkler; and sisters: Jeanette Yerkes, Mary Hess, Patricia Gerhart, and Audrey Brady.

Stanley will be lovingly remembered by his wife of seventy-one years: Adele (Yerkes) Winkler, to whom he wed on September 25, 1954; son: David Winkler (Pam), daughter: Deborah Eisenhart (John); sister: Artis Wolfinger; grandchildren: Julie Winkler, Jimmy Winkler-Herchelroath (Bradley), Jennifer Ehrenreich (Jason), Ashley Picht (Mike), Dean Winkler, Jr. (Chelsea), and Derrick Winkler (Ashley); great-grandchildren: Zachery Rubeo, Avery Ehrenreich, and Hunter Ehrenreich.

A viewing will be held at the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 821 West Broad Street, Quakertown, on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service—in the funeral home—at 11:00am.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spinnerstown.
