Sean Whalen, 56, of Quakertown, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born on April 3, 1969, in Elkins Park, he was a son of Kathryn (Schmidtetter) Whalen and the late James T. Whalen.
Following his formal education, he entered the workforce and spent the majority of his career as an electrician.
In his free time, he found joy in fishing, hockey, fixing things and being relied upon by others to do so, traveling to Florida, history and documentaries, reality television (Big Brother and Survivor), 80s music (often replaying the same songs), and what he considered “classic funny movies” (others didn’t always agree).
Sean’s biggest joy was taking pride in his daughter, Alexandra, and her accomplishments.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother: Patrick Whalen, who passed away in 2013.
Sean will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-two years: Rachel (Weidemoyer) Whalen, to whom he wed on June 26, 1993; daughter: Alexandra Whalen; mother: Kathryn Whalen; brothers: James (Anne Marie), Michael, and Kevin; sisters: Colleen and Erin; his oldest godson: Connor; as well as nieces and nephews.
Details regarding a Celebration of Life are forthcoming.
Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
