Sandra L. Wolfinger, 69, of Quakertown, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on November 4, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Dale W. and Mary (Thomas) Hixson.
A graduate of Quakertown High School’s Class of 1974, Sandy went on to work for Quakertown National Bank before taking a position with the Bucks County IU, where she remained for seven years. She spent the next twenty-five years as a clerical specialist for the Borough of Quakertown’s Police Department, retiring in 2017. For over forty years, she worked part-time for Michael Goepfert Auctioneer.
She was an active member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Quakertown, where she served on various committees and in several positions. She was also a member of the Pocket Testament League, which allowed her to travel to the Olympics in Japan and Atlanta.
In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, kayaking, playing games, and attending family reunions.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: D. Wayne Hixson; sister: Sylvia Belzner; sister-in-law: Susan Hixson; and brother-in-law: Wilhelm Belzner.
Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-nine years: Gary J. Wolfinger; sons: Jay Wolfinger (Veronica) and Joel Wolfinger (Stephanie); step-grandchildren: Skyler and Sebastian; brothers: Richard Hixson (Joyce), Barry Hixson, and John Hixson (Gail); and her sister: Deanna Unger (Sam); as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 1811 North Old Bethlehem Pike, Quakertown, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9:30am until the time of the service—in church—at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship Church, at the above address, to support church missions.
Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
