Norman L. Diehl, Sr., 81, of Quakertown, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Abode Care of Allentown.

Born on April 20, 1945, in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Harvey and Grace (Frances) Diehl.

A graduate of Quakertown High School’s Class of 1963, Norman enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Hanson for two tours during the Vietnam War.

Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, Norman returned home to Quakertown and began working for Perkasie Industries, where he remained for thirty years. Following his retirement, he took a part-time position, at Wal-Mart, which he maintained for seven years, where he was able to stay active.

Norman enjoyed being active: It wasn’t unusual for him to ride his bicycle fifty miles on a given weekend. In his younger years, he played volleyball and went camping. As a loving grandfather, he often joined in play with his grandchildren.

During his leisure time, he took pleasure in watching sports, especially the Boston Celtics.

A man of strong faith, he was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Applebachsville.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of thirty-three years: Linda L. Diehl, who passed away on November 11, 2004; brother: Ronnie Diehl, who passed away at the age of 15; and his son-in-law: Robert Shimalla, who passed away in 2024.

Norman will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Rhonda Diehl; son: Norman Diehl, Jr. and his wife Stephanie; and grandchildren: Aubrey, Allison, and Aaron.

A visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Applebachsville, 837 Old Bethlehem Road, Quakertown, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service—in church—at 11:00am.

Interment will follow in Springtown Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
