Joan W. Sell

Joan W. Sell, 88, of Hellertown, died on Monday, October 26, 2026, in her home.

Born on December 28, 1937, in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Ester Moyer and was raised on the family farm where she also worked in the accompanying gas station and a hotel.

Following her formal education, and before starting her family, Joan stitched baseballs.

She found joy in collecting antiques, arrowhead hunting, going out for breakfast, and starting her day with a good cup of coffee.

Her family was a focal point for her. She loved to cook for them, was often the voice of reason and strength, and was always supportive. She later raised her grandson, Thomas.

She attended Bethel Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church where she shared her love of Jesus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: James Charles Sell, who died in 2001; a son: Lawrence Sell; and a grandson: Anthony Franco.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Aaron Sell and Adam Sell; daughters: Natalie Franco and Heather Byrum (Koby); brother: Tom Moyer; sister: Diane Costenbater; grandsons: Thomas J. Sell and Melissa Franco; and a great-grandchild: Tiffany Franco.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:30am at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
