Ida Mae (Thomas) Loew passed away from this earth peacefully into the loving arms of our Savior on July 20, 2026, at the age of 92.

She was born on December 12, 1933, in the small village of Shelly just outside Quakertown, PA, to her parents, Raymond R. Thomas and Marie Thomas (Wood). She had three older siblings, Raymond, Marie and Paul, all of whom predeceased her.

She graduated from Quakertown High School in 1952 and soon thereafter met the love of her life, Frank M. Loew, Jr., whom she then married in May, 1953 at the tender age of 19. She went on to become the consummate Mom and Homemaker while simultaneously working many hours on the family enterprise, Loew's Poultry Farm, Inc., located on California Road just outside of Quakertown.

She bore and raised 5 sons from her diminutive 4'10" body to help work the farm. She managed against all odds to turn them into productive citizens while all the while putting up with their myriad hijinks, shenanigans and picadillo's. She also worked for a time later in life at the F.W. Woolworth's lunch counter while spending her free time traveling on numerous Island vacations with her husband and doting on her eleven grandchildren.

She continued living on the family homestead, after the passing of her beloved husband in 2016, until the ripe old age of 90. She will be sorely missed by her 5 children, Frank (Terrie), Michael (Deborah), James (Lori), Joseph (Teri), & David (Joanne) as well as her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 821 West Broad Street, Quakertown, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 11:00am, until the time of the funeral service--in the funeral home--at 12:00pm.

Interment will follow in St. Isidore's Parish Cemetery, Quakertown.

Please send any donations you wish to make in Ida's memory to The Quakertown Food Pantry, P.O. Box 278, Quakertown, Pa. 18951, where she volunteered for many years.
