Charles A. “Rusty” Heidecker, III, 71, of Quakertown, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem.
Born on June 1, 1954, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Betty Ann (Brunner) Heidecker, Jr.
A graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, Charles entered the police academy. Following graduation from the academy, he served as a police officer in Hellertown for six years. He then moved into mechanics, working for Richlandtown Atlantic and later Coopersburg Kenworth.
Outside of work, he found joy in deep sea fishing, cooking—particularly grilling and barbecuing—and a good glass of red wine. He was also a Hot Rod enthusiast.
Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty years: Sandra (Morton) Heidecker, with whom he just celebrated his anniversary on May 1; son: Joshua Heidecker and his wife Katherine; grandson: Sullivan Heidecker; and cousin: Mark Fisher.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
