Bernard P. McFadden, 78, of Salisbury Township and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2026, in his home.

Born on January 8, 1948, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Patrick B. and Rita E. (Dugan) McFadden.

Bernard grew up in Mount Airy, Philadelphia, until the age of 18 when he joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Upon receiving his three Purple Hearts and Honorable Discharge, he returned home to his family and worked various jobs through the years.

Grilling and cooking were favored activities for Bernard, but spending time with his family and telling stories was what he most loved.

He was a member of the Philadelphia VFW, as well as the Vietnam Veterans 590.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter: Colleen McFadden; brothers: Joseph, James McFadden and Francis McFadden; sisters: Bernadette McFadden, Rita Jeanne Warren, Ann Donofry, and Nellie Smith.

Bernard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-eight years: Vaughnina (Dalton) McFadden, to whom he wed on September 24; son: Brian McFadden; daughters: Kelly Osley (Joe), Holly Clifford, and Stacy Clifford; sisters: Karen Montgomery; grandchildren: Anna, Kristen, Miguel, Paulie, Josh, Sarah, Meghan, Joe-Joe, Logan, Conner, Daphne Michelle, Stafanie, Samantha, Sasha, Matthew “Red,” Annika, and Dominic; great-grandchildren: Vincent, Samuel, Irelynne, Paulie, Jr., Summer, Anna, Logan, Sawyer, Benjamin, Gabriel, Hattie, Delanie, Sebastian, and Royston; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A viewing will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA 19503, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, in church, at 11:00am.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown.
