Robert S. Bucher of Quakertown died Sunday, April 11th in his home. He was 59. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Purtell) Bucher. Born in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of Dr. Robert G. Bucher and the late Mary Bucher, and elder brother to Brad and Bryon Bucher. Bob was a 1969 graduate of the Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, PA, where he was active in football, wrestling, and track and field, and where he developed a lifelong love of music. He was co-president of Bucher and Wallace Plumbing and Heating until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Bucher attended Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. and was a long-time member of the choir. His family and friends remember him singing all the time, and during his life he sang bass in multiple choirs in Bucks and Lehigh Counties including the Bucks County Choraliers, Summer Harmony Mens' Choir, and Zion Choral Society. Robert felt his greatest accomplishment and blessing was his family. In addition to his devoted wife and best friend, Pat, Bob is survived by a son, Robert L. Bucher, a daughter, Anna Keane, and her husband Joseph Keane. He was grandfather to Alexandria and Martin Keane and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and "Poppop." His family is deeply grateful for the blessing of Bob's life and the time they spent with him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Bob at Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. 9150 Spinnerstown Road, Spinnerstown, PA 18968 on Thursday April 15th at 11:00 A.M. Call 9:30-11:00 A.M. Thursday in the church. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Robert's name to Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. music ministry, Box 494, Spinnerstown, PA, 18968.
