Howard M. Nase

Howard M. Nase of Sellersville (formerly of Perkasie) died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in Rockhill Mennonite Community. He was the husband of Myrtle (Weidner) Nase. They were married nearly 69 years.

Born in Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1910, to the late Oswin and Ella (Moyer) Nase, Howard was the youngest of nine children.

He was an educator for 44 years, beginning as a teacher in Trumbauersville, a teacher then a principal and director of athletics at Sell-Perk High School, and retiring as Principal of Pennridge South Junior High School in 1976. He attended Goshen College, Millersville University, and received his masters degree from Temple University.

Howard and his wife were among the founding members of Calvary Mennonite Church of Souderton and active in that faith community.

Howard and Myrtle enjoyed travel, Elder Hostels, and involvement with their extended family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Nancy (Robert) Thomas of Phoenixville, and Janet (Jon) Smucker

of Goshen, Indiana, and five beloved grandchildren: Rachel Thomas, Geoff Thomas, Joseph (Teresa) Smucker, Phillip (Jessica) Smucker,

and J. Benjamin (Rachel) Smucker.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Rockhill Mennonite Community on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 3 P.M. Visitation will be held from 2 - 3 P.M. (one hour prior to the service)

Memorials can be given to Goshen College or the mission outreach at Calvary Church of Souderton. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
